Stanford University

Jeewoo (Jenny) Kang is a graduate student in the Neurosciences Interdepartmental Program at Stanford University. She works in Dr. Xiaojing Gao's lab in the Chemical Engineering Department, applying synthetic biology to create new neuroscience tools. Jenny helped develop the RELEASE platform using ER retention motifs to control secretory/membrane protein secretion or expression. She is currently engineering the rabies virus to contain a live RNA sensing domain for cell-type specificity. Before her PhD, Jenny double majored in Chemical-Biological Engineering and Biology at MIT. She has experience in various fields including neuro-engineering, biologics manufacturing, and stem cell biology.
